World of the Terracotta Warriors Exhibit

Bowers Museum, Santa Ana CA

Digiscura's Digital Installations at the Bowers Museum bring history to life. For the landmark Terracotta Warriors exhibition at the Bowers Museum, Digiscura crafted five immersive digital experiences that transported visitors deep into the world of ancient China. Through cutting-edge technology and evocative storytelling, each installation enriched the exhibit by blending history with innovation.

Visitors begin their journey with a cinematic introductory film showcased on a 4K LED wall. This powerful piece sets the stage for the exhibit, offering sweeping visuals and compelling text on screen.

A tiny, often-overlooked artifact on display was brought vividly to life through a custom animation, which reconstructed the surrounding scene to show how the item was once used. This digital vignette provided a window into daily life in the Qin Dynasty, connecting past to present in a way only technology can.

In a creative hands-on moment, visitors were invited to digitally color their own Terracotta Warrior inside a reconstructed tomb environment. This engaging digital interactive allowed guests of all ages to personalize history while learning about the original painting techniques used on the warriors over 2,000 years ago.
