Whaling on the PV Peninsula & Lighthouse Lens Exhibit

Point Vicente Interpretive Center. Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

This project includes the design and implementation of two new permanent exhibits at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, in Rancho Palos Verdes CA.

The Whaling exhibit documents history of whaling on the peninsula and provides global context for whaling as a source of nourishment and fuel. The exhibit includes super graphics, artifact displays, a scenic replication of a whalers shack and built in plans for future digital footprint.

The lighthouse lens exhibit features a third order lens that was given to the museum by the coast guard and moved from the Point Vicente Lighthouse nearby. The lens is a centerpiece of the gallery and is surrounded by a photo mural of the view from the peninsula with superimposed historical content providing context of the relevance of the lens.
